The wait is almost over, the full figure was finally revealed and ready to drop this friday. I’ll be on hand at Kidrobot’s booth from 1-3 for the release, its gonna be nuts so get there early.
(From the KRonikle) At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Jesse Hernandez unveils his outlaw of death – El Bandito Muerto. Fully armed and ominous, this malevolent 8-inch black and grey pistol-packing bandit blends Hernandez’ signature indigenous style with a seriously dark and edgy street vibe. The removable sombrero and sculpted detailed serape lay claim to Bandito’s and Hernandez’ own Mexican roots, but the colossal sculpted sneakers and somber six-shooter are less than subtle clues to this mean muerto’s approach to life and death on the streets. Limited to only 250 pieces at $100 Jesse will be signing from 1-3pm.

Getting the party started right is Munky King’s annual SDCC celebration, The Black Ball. This year will be extra special as they host Clutter Magazine’s inaugural ceremony of the Designer Toys Awards. The talented Luke Chueh, Yoskay Yamamoto, Arron Woes Martin and Jesse Hernandez will also be busting out their brushes on a mystery canvas all evening with tunes provided by DJs R-Rated and Cobi.1. Taking place at Bar Basic on Thursday, July 20 from 9pm – 2am with the award announcements going down promptly at 9:30pm. This is something all you Comic-Con art nerds don’t want to miss.

Immortal Studios is the website of artist Jesse Hernandez. Mr. Hernandez’s is a multidisciplinary artist, most widely known for his vinyl art toys, painting, and television work. His style is a combination of traditional indigenous culture and street art style, also drawing upon his background in animation, having worked for many years as the Art Director/Co-Creator of the cartoon series \\\"The Nutshack\\\", and currently for social gaming company Zynga. Hernandez is also the Host and Producer of “Vinyl Addiction”, the first TV show dedicated to the world of Vinyl Toys, and creates freelance artwork through his company Immortal Studios.
His artwork has been featured in Rolling Stone, Juxtapoz, Maxim, YRB, Giant Robot, Clutter, Farmville, and Flux Designer Toys. Hernandez has released vinyl toys in collaboration with Kid Robot, Kuso Vinyl , Bic Plastics, Kaching Brands, and Toy Qube, while continuing to show his art in galleries all around the world.
